On the Tac Map, when you zoom out, there’s a white grid on the map and I measured one of those squares using a marker and each square is 1.5km. My rough estimate is that the island is about 15km across and 30km long which is 450 sq km without including much water. Wildlands was roughly 20x20km or 400 square km.

Rather than the map size, I would like to tell you about the thing that somehow bothered me over the first game. Which was that while the map was okay in size for that game, the areas of interest where clustered around certain spots around the map, while the rest of large expanses were made of empty farmland with some small loot on them.

While the overall map of the continent far exceeds the size of the Lands Between, the playable area isn't quite as big. Adding together the explorable areas of Velen, Novigrad, the Skellige Isles, White Orchard, Kaer Morhen and even the DLC region of Toussaint, The Witcher 3's map comes close but not quite as big as Elden Ring.
